The political heat in the state of Bihar seems to be growing rapidly and both the ruling and the Opposition parties seem to be engaging in a cut-throat competition to woo the Bihari voter and to ascertain its victory in the polls. The Bihar countdown to the polls has also been full of a series of personal attacks, allegations and counter-allegations among the competing parties and the heat seems to have reached an altogether new height with the latest personal attacks made by present CM Nitish Kumar on the RJD’s CM candidate Tejashwi Yadav. The speech in question had been made by CM Nitish Kumar during his rally in the Begusarai district on Saturday afternoon.
The speech was in every was a scathing one and contained a series of sarcastic references to RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav and references were also made to his father and mother and erstwhile chief ministers of the state Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. In a staunch attack on the RJD, during his rally, CM Nitish Kumar asked Tejashwi Yadav to ask his parents why they had not built any new schools and colleges in Bihar when they were at the helm of affairs and when they had the chance to do so.
Addressing the people who had gathered to listen to him speak, CM Nitish Kumar said, “Other people got an opportunity to govern. What did they do? Was one school or college built? If you want to study today, ask your father or mother?Is there a school? Was a college built all this time?”
It was clear that the father and mother references that were being made by CM Nitish Kumar pointed a finger at RJD leader and chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav’s parents and erstwhile chief ministers of the state Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. Lalu Yadav is presently serving his term in jail for a corruption scam and Rabri Devi, who had twice been the chief minister of Bihar was popularly seen as without her own voice and merely a puppet in her husband’s hands.
CM Nitish Kumar has said time again that if his government is voted back to power it would give all the girls passing their intermediate exams Rs 25,000. Girls who pass their graduation exams will get Rs 50,000. The government is presently giving them Rs 10,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively.
The political heat in Bihar is growing with each passing day and the leader has been engaged in a constant battle of words with not only Tejaswi Yadav but also LJP Chief Chirag Paswan over the last couple of weeks. Nitish Kumar is contesting for the chief minister’s post in Bihar for the fifth tome and has seen RJD as his most staunch enemy.
Tejashwi Yadav on the other hand has not remained quite while listening to the allegations being made by CM Nitish Kumar and has said that the chief minister is mentally tired and needs rest, he also said that he can count more than 60 scams in which he can be traced to have a role.
It is quite clear that the issues of unemployment and education are playing a major role in the Bihar elections. Bihar will be casting its vote for a 243 member assembly in three phases beginning October 28. The results of the elections will come out on November 10.
