Our View about Babumoshai Bandookbaaz
Babumoshai Bandookbaaz takes one on a roller coaster ride through the complex mind of a contract killer busting with lust and black humour. It is difficult for an actor as accomplished as Nawazuddin Sidiqqui to go wrong and even in Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, he does a remarkable job.
He convinces us with his impeccable performance as a cold-blooded killer who could go to any extent to kill his target without a miss, but even while at the peak of his aggressive nature he cannot help but fall in love with the vivacious and bold Phulwa (Bidita Bag). The ample use of rustic lingo often accompanied by crude abusive language and sexist humour seems to only compliment the gritty action in the film. Nawazuddin’s unpredictable character takes us on a roller coaster ride through dark murders, rowdy politicians and unrestrained lust – weaving a plot that makes it a film you must watch. The gritty action in the film makes it so entertaining to watch that even for a moment one is not likely to lose interest. Murders, fights in dark locations and severe use of bloodshed make the action of the film totally worthwhile.
It takes a while to settle down with the uncanny and often crude plot of the film and extreme violence, crude language and a complicated plot full of murders, betrayal, sex and indecent lingo make its an uphill ride for the average viewer. The film begins to seem convincing when the camera moves from the rowdy hinterlands of Uttar Pradesh to the broad array of characters that give the plot an altogether new dimension.
Overall, Babumoshai Bandookbaaz is a must watch for its quirky characters, twist-filled storyline, rustic appeal and humorous dialogues accompanied by gritty action. So, go ahead and catch it on ZEE5 right away!
