The former President of Uruguay José Mujica’s way of simple living and his ideas should be considered as an extraordinary example in a hyper capitalistic world.
Mujica was the Uruguayan President between 2010 and 2015 and was a former urban guerrilla fighter; who was imprisoned for 13 years during the military dictatorship in the 1970s and 1980s.  Later he became the president of Uruguay.

He is considered as the most adorable president in the world. He lives a very simple living just like most common citizens of Uruguay. That’s why the world media calls him the ‘poorest president’.

He famously donated 90 percent of his salary to charity. Recently the world’s most humble president urged
Remove the wealthy elites from politics before it’s too late.” He explained how corporate funding was involved in the government and that is leading to a major crisis around the world. It is a big challenge to democracy and the future of human society.

He also said “If we live in a world where the majority is supposed to govern, we have to try to root our perspective in that of the majority, not the minority. I am an enemy of consumerism. Because of this hyper consumerism, we’re forgetting about fundamental things and wasting human strength on frivolities that have little to do with human happiness. I am  living on a small farm on the outskirts of the capital of Montevideo with my wife and  three-legged dog Manuela.
The president rejects materialism because it would rob him of the time he uses to enjoy his passions, like tending to his flower farm and working outside.
