Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to every household in Jharkhand to contribute Rs 11 and a brick towards the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. He made the appeal while he was addressing a rally during the election campaign on Friday. He assured the gathering that the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya would commence every soon and every household should come forward to make it a reality. He reminded the people that ‘Ram Rajya’ was based on the contributions made by each member of the society and that it was a kind of society that did not discriminate between any two sections of the society be it women, youth or the Dalits. Such a social order according to CM Adityanath also ensured that the fruits of development were shared by one and all. He also credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for having ushered in Ram Rajya in the country in one sweep. He said “ In one sweep the PM removed Article 370 in Kashmir. Today, you can go to Kashmor, Ladah, Jammu, to the land of Ma Vishno and Baba Amarnath and buy land. If someone has given you that right, it is PM Modi.”
On December 12, the Supreme Court of India has dismissed all the petitions against the Ramjanmabhoomi- Babri Masjid title dispute case, the judgement on which was given on November 9.
The top court had unanimously ruled in favour of the construction of a new temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya and said that the entire disputed land spread over 2.7 acres will be handed over to the trust which would be formed by the government. This trust would also hold accountability for monitoring over the construction of the temple at the site. The court had also directed that the Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board be given a 5-acre plot for the construction of a mosque in Ayodhya.
The fourth phase is scheduled on December 16 and the fifth and the last phase would take place on December 20. The counting of the votes will begin on December 23.
While commenting on the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act, Yogi Adityanath said that India as a country has never been biased towards people of any particular religious faith, but the situation is the opposite in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. He said that minorities in these countries were thrashed and thrown out, their women were exploited and their property was looted. They would come to India to seek refuge but India would now grant them citizenship.
He also said that the opposition parties who had been opposing the CAB, were speaking the language of Pakistan.
The Uttar Pradesh CM stated, “ They are objecting to sheltering poor and harassed people and speaking in support of illegal immigrants who are losing your rights. Should we accept Pakistan’s language? Should these parties get your votes? If one has respect for Ram, one cannot be friends with them.”
Asking for votes for the BJP, he said that parties like the Congress, RJD, CPI(ML) and the Jharkhand Mukti Mocha were parties that only worked for their selfish interests. They instigated terrorism and Naxalism and did not work for the welfare of the minorities.
