TURBULENT JNU CAMPUS:SEEING BEYOND THE POLITICIZATION OF A SUICIDE

In a conversation with The New Leam Professor Avijit Pathak (CSSS/SSS/JNU) has reflected on the university–its changing academic culture, teacher-taught relationships and the growing anonymity among students. Without understanding this social landscape, Professor Pathak argues, we would not be able to make sense of the tragic suicide of a young Dalit research scholar. He pleads for a new university culture filled with love, compassion and life-sustaining academics.
