Today in focus : Gehlot government to undergo floor test in Rajasthan assembly

Rajasthan political crisis does not seem to be ending anytime soon. Rajasthan BJP announced that in the special assembly session from tomorrow BJP will move a no-confidence motion against the Ashok Gehlot government. Rajasthan CM had planned trust vote for the days when he had 102 MLAs with him, around 23 MLA became rebellious and sided with Sachin Pilot. After the return of Sachin Pilot the and rebellious MLAs, the Gehlot government has support of 125 MLAs. Winning the vote will give him a six-month reprieve. The BJP has distanced itself from Rajasthan congress crisis. It also denied all charges of its involvement and purchasing of MLAs.


Mohan Bhagwat on Self- reliant India : During an online event RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said that promoting of indigenous items “Swadeshi” doesn’t mean boycotting foreigner products. RSS Chief praised the New Education Policy and called it a right step for making the country self-reliant.


Singer Zubeen Garg threatened and verbally abused : The famous singer and a strong voice of protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act, Zubeen Garg was threatened by unknown people on Wednesday night. In the FIR, he said that the accused, at least six in number, overtook his car while he was returning home from a studio at around 12.40 am Thursday. Mr Garg was accompanied by his driver and two security officers provided by the state government, reported NDTV.


PM introduces transparent taxation system :Prime Minister Modi has launched a platform named ‘Transparent Taxation-Honouring the Honest’. He said that this new platform will help the government to strengthen its efforts for encouraging an honest taxation system in the country and introducing suitable reforms in it. PM Modi said“ The platform has big reforms such as faceless assessment, faceless appeal and taxpayers charter. Faceless assessment and taxpayers charter come in force from today, whereas faceless appeal service will be available from September 25.”


Women’s health amid the pandemic : A study by Population Foundation of India(PFI)surveyed women across Bihar, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and found out about the reproductive and menstrual issues that they faced amid the lockdown. The study was conducted across several states among grown up women, female adolescents and young girls. The main states where women were surveyed were Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
