It has been decided that the monsoon session of the Parliament will not be held online but will be conducted in the physical mode with all parliamentarians physically present for the session. But keeping the coronavirus pandemic in mind, there are ample preparations that are underway to keep all those attending the session safe and sound.
From installation of large screens and audio consoles in the galleries to ultraviolet germicidal irradiation and the usage of special cables meant to connect the two Houses for the transmission of audio and visuals at different places across the galleries and the chamber- a host of new technologies are being brought to use ahead of the parliament session which is going to be held amid the pandemic.
The Chairman of the Rajya Sabha M Venkaiah Nadu is ensuring that all the arrangements for the session are completed by early next week before the session finally begins. The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha will work turn by turn, so that members of each can be seated in a more distanced and spaced out manner.
It is being ensured that the sessions are held to comply with the social distancing norms and in a way that minimises the infection risk of the participants.
