The situation between India and China continues to be tense and the Army Chief General MM Nirvane has said that indeed the situation around the LAC is a bit tense. Due to growing tense situation in this region, India has taken additional precautions and deployed additional forces to ensure India’s security and integrity in the Ladakh region is retained and protected. The situation between the two countries has remained tense over the last couple of months and while diplomatic talks are continuously going on at all levels, the ushering in of peace is still awaited.  MM Nirvane said “We are sure through this medium of talks, we will resolve whatever differences we have. We will ensure that the status quo is not chawed and we are able to safeguard our interests.”


Supreme Court Rejects Review Petition Against Conduction of NEET, JEE : Ministers from six non-BJP ruled states including Maharashtra, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Jharkhand, Rajasthan had moved the Supreme Court asking it to review the order for conducting the NEET and JEE exams amid the pandemic as proposed by the Centre. The ministers had raised concerns that this decision could leave the lives of a large number of students in danger due to the risk of infection but the SC has now rejected this review petition for the postponement of the NEET and JEE exams.


COVID-19 Vaccines for Generalised Use May Only be Available After 2021 : WHO spokesperson Margaret Harris said that the phase three of the vaccination against the novel coronavirus infection is likely to take time and  is not likely to be available for widespread use before 2021.  This delay will be caused by the reality that the vaccine will have to be rigorously checked for its effectiveness and safety. This means that the vaccine may only be available for widespread use by the middle of next year.


Cuddalore Firecracker Factory Explosion Leads to Seven Deaths : In a tragic accident that took place inside a firecracker factory in Tamil Nadu’s Cuddalore, seven people have lost their lives. The incident took place at around 11 am. The accident has also led to the injuries of may people. It is believed that all the deceased are women and the injured were rushed to a nearby government hospital to avail treatment. A compensation of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased has been announced by the Tamil Nadu government.
