The first batch of Rafale fighter jets have landed in India after a prolonged wait and much speculation and political uproar between the ruling and the Opposition.
The first batch of Rafale fighter jets consisted of a total of five jets. These jets have landed at the IAF Air Force Station in Ambala today.

This first batch of Rafale jets received a grand welcome in India and were welcomed by two Sukhoi 30MKIs. The first batch of Rafale jets was received by the Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhaduria at Ambala.
These jets were flown to India by Indian Air Force pilots. These aircrafts will officially become part of the Indian Air Force by the end of August. Any photography or videography of the air force station where the Rafales have landed has been prohibited and Section 144 has been imposed in areas close to the Ambala Air Force Station.
India has purchased a total of 36 twin engine Rafales from Dassault Rafale for an estimated price of Rs 58,000 crore through an inter-governmental deal which had been signed in 2016.
