Here are some of the top coronavirus updates that have been making news in the last couple of hours in India and the world.

 

  1. India has recorded 28,638 new coronavirus positive cases on Sunday and its total coronavirus positive cases have climbed to 8,49,553. The toll of the country has risen to 22,674 with 551 new deaths. The number of people who have recovered so far in India is 5.15 lakh. The Union Health Ministry has pointed to the fact that the country’s recovery rate reached 62.93%
  2. In a detonating scenario, the state of Maharashtra has reported 7,827 new coronavirus cases and 173 deaths have been reported in the last twenty-four hours, this has taken the total number of cases t0 2,54,427 and the toll to 10,289.
  3. Delhi reported 1,573 new coronavirus positive cases and 37 new deaths. The new tally in the capital has reached to 1,12,494 and the toll has recalled 3,371.
  4. Uttar Pradesh government has decided on a complete lockdown in the state over the weekend because the number of cases is on a rapid rise. This new lockdown is likely to be imposed from next week, starting on July 18. CM Yogi Adityanath has ordered officials to conduct over 5,000 tests per day in the state. Srinagar has also ordered a lockdown in 68 of its containment zones. 
  5. The Monsoon session of the Parliament will be held soon but the exact dates for it will shortly be decided. The session will be held with all safety and precautionary measures.
  6. After actors Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter Aradhya Bachchan have also tested coronavirus positive.
  7. The British government has announced that it has plans of investing 200 billion dollars to revive the country’s art and culture which has been negatively impacted amid the pandemic.
  8. The global coronavirus tally has climbed to 1,27,51,882 and the toll crossed 5.66 lakh according to the Johns Hopkins University.
  9. 70 lakh people have recovered from the virus globally.
  1. Chulalongkorn University researchers from Thailand say that they have plans of beginning human trials of coronavirus vaccines in November and are preparing over 10,000 doses of the vaccine.
