In a latest development to the Tablighi Jamaat case, the Delhi Police is all set to file 20 charge sheets against 83 foreign nationals in the Saket Court. It was earlier in the month that the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police had seized the documents of more than 700 members of the Tablighi Jamaat, all of whom are foreign nationals. The documents that were seized by the police include their passports. These foreign nationals and members of the Tablighi Jamaat allegedly participated in the event held at Nizamuddin Markaz in March earlier in the year.

On May 5, the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police had interrogated the son of Maulana Saad who is also the chief of the Tablighi Jamaat and taken the details of the 20 people who had attended the Markaz event and were part of its management team.

It is in relation to the event at Delhi that an FIR was registered against the Tablighi Jamaat chief and others under the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897 in connection to the religious congregation that was held at Markaz in the Nizamuddin area, which is a coronavirus hotspot.
