In a latest development in the ongoing political drama in Maharashtra, the Supreme Court has ordered that a floor test will be conducted on September 27, where the BJP would be required to prove its majority. This comes days after the BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the state’s chief minister nixing Shiv Sena-Congres-NCP’s bid to form the government in Maharashtra. Now it has been ordered that the Maharashtra floor test will be held tomorrow and the floor test will be conducted through an open ballot and will be telecasted live on television.
The Supreme Court has ordered that the floor test will be conducted by the protea speaker after the members take oath by 5pm tomorrow.
As the Devendra Fadnavis government has to prove its majority in the house tomorrow, it will remain to be seen in whose favour the politics of Maharashtra bends. The joint alliance of the Shiv Sena-Congress-NCP has called the formation of the BJP government “illegal.”
