It is for the second time in this week that PM Narendra Modi has come forward and addressed the people of the country in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak. Today, in his speech PM Modi announced that there will be a complete lockdown across the country beginning from the midnight in order to keep the menace of coronavirus away. PM Narendra Modi declared, “In the situation, the nationwide complete lockdown will be in place for 21 days.”
He also added that, “If we are not able to manage the upcoming 21 days(of nationwide complete lockdown), we will be pushed back 21 years.”
This is the second time that the PM has come forward to address the people as the country is experiencing an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the past few days. According to the Health Ministry, the total number of cases has crossed 500 in India and 39 people have lost their lives.
PM Narendra Modi also said that social distancing will alone save us from the coronavirus and that this is the only option to keep us safer and keep a check on the spread of the coronavirus.
In his previous address , he has cautioned people on following the guidelines of the government and refraining from unnecessarily steeping outside their homes. He also exported people to thank doctors providers of other essential services by ringing bells, clapping bells etc.
He also said that her will be an Economic Response Task Force under the leadership of Finance Minister Niramla Sitharaman. It would decide on a relief package after analysing the situations and dimensions of the situation. From the industry sector to the media agencies, PM Narendra Modi had been conducted a series of video conferencing with the various stakeholders on how best to tackle the virus.
