STUDENT SUICIDE : Approximately 200,000 students in India have died by suicide

As of 2025, approximately 200,000 students in India have died by suicide since 1995, according to data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) . This figure underscores a deeply concerning public health crisis, with student suicides now surpassing those among farmers in India .

Between 2019 and 2022, the number of student suicides in India was as follows:​
