On 17 September 2017, PM Narendra Modi declared that the Sardar Sarovar Dam is nearing completion of its construction work and with the construction of this dam; droughts will no longer be a problem for the farmers for at least the upcoming 5 years. He further stated that with the construction of Sardar Sarovar Dam, a series of progressive future projects will be unleashed.
