The talks between India and China to arrive at peace and resolution of the conflict in Ladakh have been stuck in a stalemate since July. But in a latest development in this regard, the Indian Army has alleged that China has been repeatedly attempting to brew up the tensions afresh and has been creating fresh trouble in new areas in the Galwan Valley and nearby areas around the South Bank of the Pangong Tso.
The Indian Army has reported that the Chinese troops have been repeatedly trying to escalate tensions and bring conflict back on the table by bringing in their troops to change the status quo near the south bank of the Pangong Tso during the nights of August 29 and 30. The Indian Army has alleged that the Chinese troops were violating the agreements that had been arrived at mutually and diplomatic engagements that had taken place in the aftermath of the first set of conflicts.
They have alleged that the Chinese side engaged in a provocative military engagement, disrespecting the ongoing talks. India and China have engaged in many rounds of diplomatic talks and military discussions but no long-term agreement has been arrived at yet, which is mutual and respected by both the parties. India has been wanting an understanding with China which would require both countries to take back their troops to the positions they were having during the month of April.
About twenty Indian soldiers had lost their lives during clashes with the Chinese troop on June 15. It is believed that the new set of tensions which have started in the south bank of the Pangong Tso may delay the process of peace and mutual agreement between the two countries and create many more hurdles in the formation of affirmative connections between the two countries. The two countries were looking forward to one more round of military discussions but possibly this too will stand affected now.
The Chinese side has also been worrying the Indian side by increasing the deployment of troops in other significant strategic locations and several depth areas, India too has been working on additional military build up. It will be interesting to see where these military tensions take both the countries.
