Today in Focus : A 12 Year Old Girl Raped and Tortured in Delhi
A new case of rape and torture has been reported from Delhi, this is the news of a 12-year-old girl raped and tortured inside her home in Delhi. She is in admitted at the AIIMS hospital, still is under observation after her surgery, battling for her life. The girl was brutally assaulted and attacked with sharp objects. The attacker has escaped. Delhi Police has registered a case for sexual crime on children. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal visited the hospital and met her relatives, describing it as a barbaric crime, said he had spoken to the police chief and a hunt was on for the attacker.
Flood in Bihar :The flood situation in Bihar is deteriorating every day, the number of affected people rose to 66.60 lakh across 16 districts, a government bulletin said. Darbhanga district is worst-hit by the deluge, accounting for seven deaths and 18.71 lakh affected people. Flood water is filling up in this low-lying area and the villagers say there is no help from the state so far.
Compensate Human Rights Defenders : The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has ordered the Chhattisgarh government to compensate human rights defenders and give them Rs 1 lakh each, for allegedly false cases filed against them. On November 5, 2016 the Chattisgarh Police filed FIRs against Nandini Sundar, Archana Prasad, Manju Kawasi, Vineet Tiwari, Sanjay Parate and Mangla Ram Karma under various sections of IPC, Arms Act and Unlawful activities.
Massive amount of Ammonium Nitrate stored at Chennai port: PMK leader Ramadoss claims that 740 tonnes of Ammonium Nitrate have been stored at Chennai port. Beirut Blast : French President Emmanuel Macron visited Beirut to show support after devastating blast. More than 130 people died in blast and thousands were injured. Losses from the blast are estimated to be between $10 billion to $15 billion, Beirut Gov. Marwan Abboud told the Saudi-owned TV station Al-Hadath on Wednesday, adding that nearly 300,000 people are homeless. Macron offered France’s support for the Lebanese people on a visit to Beirut after the port blast, but said crisis-hit Lebanon would “continue to sink” unless its leaders carry out reforms.
