Today in focus : Ayodhya’s Ram Janambhoomi pujan Ceremony
The much-awaited ceremony at the Ayodhya’s Ram janambhoomi site is happening today in the presence of PM Narendra Modi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and others. The laying of the foundation stone of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya will take place today. As many as 175 eminent guests, including 135 seers have been invited for the ceremony. PM Modi is expected to arrive for the ceremony at 11.30am. The UP government has announced a large number of development projects in Ayodhya, with an estimated budget of Rs 500 crore.
The ceremony has been the topic for popular public discussions and newsroom debates and while a large section of the population is eagerly awaiting the proceedings, the event has also been receiving criticism for the expenditure and timing amid the coronavirus pandemic from concerned individuals and activists. Over 300 people have appealed PM Modi not to attend the ceremony as the nation fights the coronavirus pandemic.The ground-breaking ceremony for the laying of the foundation stone of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya will take place on August 5. Heavy rains wreck havoc in Mumbai – On Tuesday Mumbai and its neighbouring ares received heavy showers. The normal life of city dwellers stands heavily curtail and even medical staff and essential service workers were effected due to the incessant rainfalls. Professor Apoorvanand Questioned in Delhi Communal Violence Case – A series of investigations and questionings are underway in the Delhi communal violence case that had taken place in the city during the month of February earlier this year. It is in the context of the case that well-known Delhi University professor Apoorvanand was taken in for questioning by the Delhi Police. He claimed that his phone had also been seized for investigation purposes and he had to spend nearly five hours in the police investigations and questioning.

Three Migrant Workers died in Kerala’s Kanjikode – In a tragic news that is being reported from Kanjikode, three migrant workers have been killed in what seems like a train accident.
