RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat has said that a policy has to be made in order to deal with India’s population explosion, he has come up with a solution to India’s population explosion. While referring to his earlier statement on the two-child norm, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said, “I had only said the population growth is a problem as well as a resource. So a required police should be drafted. This policy will decide how many kids one should have. I did not make any rule as such because that is not my job.”
Mohan Bhagwat made this statement while addressing a season at “Bhavishya ka Bharat” in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilley. He also said that a law that ensures that a couple have only two children should be enforced to ensure the development of this country. He addressed the meeting at the Moradabad Institute of Technology. The RSS chief also went ahead and said that his organisation was not interested in changing anybody’s religion nor did it want any power to rule over the country except for the Indian Constitution.
He stated, “When workers of RSS say that this country belongs to Hindus and 130 crore people are Hindu, it does not mean that we want to change anybody’s religion, language or caste…we don’t want ant power centre other than the Constitution because we believe in it,”
He also underlined the fact that India was known for unity in diversity and that the meaning of Hindutva was to live together and in peace.
Mohan Bhagwat stated, “ The Constitution states we should try to bring emotional integration. But what’s emotion? That emotion is- this country belongs to us. We are descendants of our great ancestors ad we have to live together despite our diversity. This is what we call Hindutva.”
The AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi has gone ahead and critiqued Mohan Bhagwat on his statement about a two-child policy. He alleged that the NDA should rather concentrate on tackling urgent challenges that plagued India such the economic slowdown and an employment crisis.Noting that 60% of the Indian population was below the age of 40, he alleged that the RSS and the Narendra Modi government at the Centre was not able to provide the youth with enough number of jobs. He said, “You are running the government, not me and hence I will ask the question and you anger… RSS asks to control population of Muslims. They will not talk of providing employment and when I question they speak of two children policy.”
