West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee reassures people in West Bengal and tells them they need not be fearful of the implementation of the CAA-NRC in the state.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday reassured the people of her state that they needn’t feel worried or anxious about the implementation of the CAA-NRC in West Bengal. She told them that even as the electoral fever was catching up in the state and the BJP was leaving no stone unturned to make its political presence felt on the ground, she made a reassurance that the people needn’t fear the rolling out of the NRC, NPR and the CAA in West Bengal. She made these sharp remarks while she was addressing a rally at Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal. She tried to ascertain for the citizens that there was no need to fear the NRC, NPR and CAA just two days after  BJP’s National General Secretary and central observer for West Bengal Kailash Vijayvargiya had said that the CAA would soon be implemented in the state. He stated, “Even if the West Bengal government opposes the implementation of CAA, we will go ahead in implementing it.” On Tuesday, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said that the BJP was trying to convert her state into riot-torn Gujarat and alleged that the party had generated a new religion of riots and hatred in the country. She also made allegations that the attack on JP Nadda’s convoy had been staged for political gains ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in the state and said that no-one in the state wanted to hurt JP Nadda or his convoy. The TMC was blamed for the attack by the BJP and the TMC had denied all such allegations.Union Home Minister Amit Shah had sought a report on the attack from the state government and ordered an inquiry and alleged that it was a sponsored violence by the ruling Trinamool Congress in the state.
