Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has come out in the open and condemned the attack by an armed man at protestors at Jamia Milia Islamia yesterday. He has gone ahead and asked who “paid” the Jamia shooter, a day after a man opened fire at a group of anti-CAA protestors in the area. He made this response when he was asked by reporters to comment on the matter as he was entering the Parliament today.

It was then that Rahul Gandhi asked, “Who paid the Jamia shooter?” On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi had written on Twitter a quote from Mahatma Gandhi which read, “I cannot teach you violence, as I do not believe in it. I can only teach you not to bow your heads before anyone, even at the cost of your life.”

Tensions heightened in the Jamia area of Delhi yesterday after a man carrying a pistol opened fire at a group of protestors fighting against the contentious CAA. He shot at a student who was severely injured. He then waved the firearm in the air and shouted “Yeh lo aazadi” amid heavy police presence.
